A very beautiful book! One of my most favorite design books ever! This lovely book is so much more than the "coffee table" book you might expect! It is large book, 9 1/2" by 13", and is beautifully presented with lovely text, great advice & suggestions & SUMPTUOUS photographs. Through their blogs, I was already very familiar with Nora Murphy's lovely home, Amy's gorgeous romantic Country French home & Tessa Foley's charming & beautiful home (a favorite of mine for years - so nice to have photos of her home in print now!). One question: Why did the stylist decide to turn the Bosporous Toile pillows in Tessa's dining room to the reverse beige side?! I miss them!! LOVE, LOVE this book & would recommend it to anyone with a love of decorating details. Something for everyone: primitive, country, romantic French style, an appreciation for textiles & blue & white! I know I will return to the beautiful pages & prose again & again.Beautiful pictures and narrative. I am a longtime follower of Tessa Foley’s blog, and Nora Murphy. I preordered my book as soon as I was able, and I am so glad I did. Nora did a beautiful job on her first book. The photography is inspiring, but so are the words. I am not sure if I have ever read a decor book? Nora tells a lovely story of each of the featured country houses. This book has heart. I am so glad to have a copy. I find myself picking it up often. It’s a winner!Fantastic Country House book!! This is a gorgeous big book with six country houses featured. One is mine so I’m going to want to give it five stars of course, but even if I wasn’t in it this book is a ten star and will be a design classic for the long haul.

A must have for your trip to France! Wonderful unuseful book. A must-have for any trip to France. I wish that he would’ve put in a little more information of the southwestern France.Comprehensive Overview of 'Best of France' Twenty years ago, I sat at a table in a hotel on the Rue Cler in Paris with Steve Smith. Then Rick Steves came in! We were already traveling independently using their guide to France. This duo went on to create a major travel business. This book shows how: smart content; good maps; selective sites, fine writing. My wife and I have used one or another edition of this book to plan and to inform our travels. I just had to purchase this 'one more time!' My Kindle Edition had no problems with Paris. Rick and Steve do not cover Marseillais. I say, find another guide if you want to concentrate your time there. My take has always been: look at Rick Steves and Steve Smith first. Fill in with Dorling Kindersley and Fodors and Frommers and with specialist maps...and with whaterve literary and cultural sources suit your tastes. The best tours of France start here!Disappointed France is so beautiful! When I received Rick Steves travel book I was very disappointed that the pictures were in black and white and not good quality.The information is good but the pictures and maps don't help with the research.I went to return and was going to be charged $5.99 for shipping. The book was $18.99.Not going to by these types of books on Amazon, heading to Barns and Noble today.

Great series My second grader loves the I Survived series. I read him a few chapters each night. A great introduction to Geography and history.A good book to complement a lesson on the events of ... At this point, none of my students were born so it’s a good starting point to build from.Book About 9/11 for Young Kids Great read for 3rd grade readers. Can be read alone or aloud. This story deals with 9/11 in a very neutral and child friendly way, yet without sugar coating anything. Having no memory of this event, my 9 yr old son was very curious. I read it to my 3rd grade son. He is a sensitive kid and doesn't like Goosebumps stories, so I was a little worried that this might scare him and we'd be having bedtime problems. It did not. He was not scared and asked a lot of questions.You can decide how much to share and show about 9/11 outside of the book. There is one picture of the first tower being hit in the book. That's it. Then it talks a lot about the fire fighters that helped people and sacrificed their lives. But the book really focuses on how many people escaped. There is one death at the end of the book, but the character is a periphery character and NOT any of the main characters. One of the main characters is wounded. It has a happy ending. When we finished the book, we watched a You Tube of the completed 9/11 memorial to show what is now at the location of the Twin Towers.

No ones a muggle when you read potter! I didn't read Potter as a child, unfortunately Christians were making a fuss over it and it was banned. Now as an adult with an 11 year old daughter I delved in and having read the firs chapter of the first book , I declared I didn't get the fuss...I am now in my second read through of the books. I finished them in three weeks. We've watched the first three movies and I await my daughter finishing each box anxiously so we can watch the next!The books are so well written they transport you, nothing less. It's a great escape at the end of the day.As for all the Christian hullabaloo there's no real magic in the book. It's on par with bewitched or cartoons. I suppose if you're the type to ban Disney then these aren't for you, but for the rest of the population they're really harmless and silly.The later books are a bit darker but the first several are really kind of cartoon magic.This second book is better than the first as we are already introduced to all the characters. Character development and friendships deepen in the second book and you begin to become attached to the little magicians and start to realize why this series created such a rabid fandom.The books are adventurous and imaginative and have so much heart. The stories are packed with substance- very little to no filler in these books. They're a kids series, but it's the first time in a long time I have read a book and didn't feel like skimming a good bit. There's nothing you want to miss in these!It's great for a parent to read with their child, bc anytime you can bond over something especially as they get older it's a wonderful thing.And for those adults who didn't read as a kid, go ahead, you won't be bored. Yes they're kids books but they're written on a level everyone can enjoy. That's the real magic!Beautiful editions for fans & children These illustrated editions of Harry Potter were done right! All of the original text is there and the artwork is beautiful. Every page has something, whether it's an illustration that takes up a full double page spread, a little drawing in the corner, a thematic border, or just a visually textured background. It may sound chaotic, like the visuals could be too much and break up the flow of reading but it is not; it enhances the story as you turn the pages and delight in the new visuals that each page brings. I imagine these would be a great way to bring children into the story, but they're so nice you may want to protect and collect these beauties. I can't wait for them to release the others.Great price, but it is all 7 books combined ...
