Michael Bergman earned his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis and his J.D. from Emory School of Law. He is a successful author and entrepreneur, having created the concept for Barron's AP Flashcards and co-authoring Barron's AP United States History Flashcards. Additionally, Mr. Bergman created the award-winning SAT prep game, Numbskull, as well as Getting To The Quad, The Graduate Survival Guide and The Brokers Manual.Kevin Preis is an author of both fiction and non-fiction titles and the owner of Augmental (http://bit.ly/2ZU1Fvd), the content creation and content marketing company. He is also the creator of Go See Campus (https://goseecampus.com), the website for high school students and parents planning college visits. Preis received a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University with dual majors in Government and English as well as a Master of Education degree from Harvard University's Technology, Innovation, and Education program and an MBA from Tulane University. The cards have a punch-hole in one corner that accommodates an enclosed metal key-ring-style card holder. The ring allows students to arrange the flash cards in any sequence that suits their study needs. A valuable study aid, whether used alone or in tandem with the newly published Barron’s AP United States History test prep manual.
Well thought out flash cards I purchased the Barron 's AP United States History set of 500 flash cards to use with my adult students who are preparing for the GED exam. The flashcards come in a sturdy hinged cardboard box. Each card is numbered, with its number in the upper left corner. The cards are broken down into nine time periods. For example, Period 1 is 1491 - 1607 "Convergence of the Peoples." At the top of each flash card, it shows which of the nine time periods that the event belongs to. Another handy feature are the three Contents cards. If you are looking for a specific topic to review, the contents will show you which cards to use for most any given US History topic.There is quite a bit of information provided on each card. On one side of the card is an event, such as "Pre-Columbian Peoples of the American Southwest." On the flip side of the card, information is presented in a bullet format. Most cards contain 3 to 5 bullets of information. At the bottom of each card, there is a "Historical Connection" section which highlights a main fact.When I first introduced the cards to my students, we focused on just one of the bullet pieces of information at first. Then as we reviewed from the day before, I included the next bullet. The cards have been very helpful. These flash cards would be a great resource for anyone preparing for the US History regents exam or the AP US History exam.Useful They do the job but I think there is too much information on each card to be truly classed as flash cardsUseful Lots of information, but for flash cards, almost too much information. However these are time savers and were helpful in reviewing U.S. history terms, people, places, and events to prepare for the APUSH exam.
